On April 19th I’ll be running the best race in the world - the Boston Marathon. While doing so I’ll be benefiting the Brookline Community Mental Health Center, an out-patient mental health facility located steps away from the Boston Marathon’s 23rd Mile Marker.
I have two goals for the coming event - raise $3,000 for the Brookline Community Mental Health Center and run a time of sub 2:40. I completed my first marathon this past December – the California International Marathon in a time of 2:46 and I believe that with the home field advantage in Boston - this can be a special day.
For over 50 years, the Brookline Mental Health Center has worked closely with schools, police, Housing Authorities and area hospitals to provide mental health services, emergency shelter and crisis intervention to individuals and families in need. I’m excited to be running for such a fantastic cause.
I appreciate any donations that you can make. All contributions are tax-deductible and will be used to benefit direct services. Please make your donation online by accessing www.brooklinecenter.org and clicking on the “donate” link on the left hand side of the homepage. Once on the donate page please select “Honor a Marathon Runner” and then write on behalf of “Christopher Andrew”.
Thank you for your support, and I’d love to see you somewhere along the course!
