Read this article in the WSJ today about Pittsburgh and it made my day. This is one beautiful city, and this picture from the incline, is even more startling at night. I’ve got some Pittsburgh pride and this city is full of incredible memories, I wouldn’t mind returning for a little while someday.
A few excerpts from the article…
“Pittsburgh has diversified its economy—cleaning up its rivers and air in the process without the help of any big bailout. Its largest employer today is University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, an $8 billion global health enterprise that employs 50,000 people, operates 20 hospitals, 400 outpatient centers, and an insurance division (I nearly took a sweet job with them).”
“The city lacks the financial and political clout of a Wall Street or a Washington, the gee-whiz of a Silicon Valley or the bling of a Las Vegas. But with the U.S. and other world economies battling recession, the ups and downs of Pittsburgh have a strong resonance.”
Stay strong Pittsburgh - #respect for perseverance.
